Default Best Creative Execution Style Magazine Advertisements

I was wondering if the fine folks at CP would be able to help me in deciding which are the best creative execution style magazine advertisements, this is an individual assignment due for next weeks (Nov 27) advertising class.

I need to choose seven print ads within these creative execution styles...before getting started on my critique's.

Identify Three Effective Points Of Advertisement
Identify Three Ineffective Points Of Advertisement
Make Changes To Ineffective Features Of Advertisements

Creative Execution Styles:

Straight sell or factual messege -
Scientific/Technical evidence
Demonstration
Comparison
Testimonial
Slice of life
Animation
Personality smybol
Fantasy
Dramatization
Humour

Best print ads in general or do they have to be current?

I suppose in general, we are supposed to find the ads in magazines but I'm sure I could just reference them if need be.

I think different styles work for different products and markets. My personal fav is slice of life type ads. I work in Real Estate markering, and I would peg all of the ads in our industry as such.

You should see if you can go back and find the old marlbourough man cigarette ads that they used to put in magazines. They are considered to be the best print ads in history.

Also any of the liquor ads.

The Porche, there is no comparison ads that became the staple of the movie risky business.

One of my favorite ads

I saw the topic title and thought, "How many Magazine Ads could you possibly find with someone being executed in different ways?"

That was a T.V. ad that was one of the greatest ads of all time.

They marched the guy out to the post to shoot him, offered him a blindfold and tied him to the post, they gave him a cigarette a lit it for him.

Then you heard the voice from the side

Ready

The guy on the post starts coughing.

Aim

Coughs harder then falls over and dies.

It was an incredibly powerful ad for it time.

One of the great advertising campaigns in history, the introduction of Volkswagon to North America in the 1960's, at this link.

http://www.cheshiregroup.com/vw1960.html

The link, however, doesn't note one of the great advertising slogans ever for Volkswagon, not far removed from the Second World War.

They introduced the car with the slogan "From The Wonderful People Who Brought You World War Two . . ."

Advertisers like to pat themselves on the back. I'm sure you can find plenty of award winning ads all in one place.

http://www.clioawards.com/

Search "print ad awards" and you'll probably find more.
