Dishwasher repair
Ok good folks of CP I have a serious problem.
Our dishwasher just craped the bed and we are having a diner party on Saturday. Does anyone know of a good repair person than could possiblly fix it tommorrow.
I am in Calgary and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Rundle Appliance repair is excellent, getting them on such short notice, or anyone else for that matter, don't cross your fingers.

Thanks, I have left a few messages at some repair places. May just go buy a new one and install it myself.

How old is the dishwasher? Unless top of the line brand, the life span expectancy is 7 to 11 years. If at that age, I would not spend good money after bad.

Is super easy to install a dishwasher. Just make sure you properly squeeze the rings on those pex pipes. Renting the tool is a scam. Go to Totem. You get it for free if you return it the same day.

Unless you buy a Miele. The initial installation for them is different.

If you can get a Bosch, go for it. Nice and quiet, and I have no complaints about the cleaning power. Just make sure it's installed properly, something about looping the drain line. Mine's wasn't and water doesn't drain quite properly, causing it to get stagnant. Gets kind of funky sometimes.

I myslef have a Miele, but for your price range, I would go with a Bosch, Kitchenaide, don't think you will get a Miele for under $1000 unless there is a super sale going on. Try Trail, see if there is anything in the section where the appliances are perfectly functional but might have a small scratch etc.

I meant to ask before, what exactly is wrong with the dishwasher? If it is a matter of not draining, it quite often means something is under the float. Have you checked for that?

The stupid things that rotate do not move. It is like the motor is gone or somethings. It fills with water and thenthe water stays there and does nothing and then it drains.

Miele will be your quietest, followed by Bosch. I would stay away from LG despite what some people tell you.

Sounds like it is motor related then. If motor is fried, I would never go to expense of a new motor. New dishwasher won't cost you much more.
