The Blues continued there win one, lose one ways. The win tonight against the Stars move the Blues into a tie for 11th in the league with the Flames. Leading the way tonight was Ryan Smyth with two goals. Numminen, Crosby and Salo each chipped in with a couple of assists. Curtis Sanford gets the win and improves to 5-2-1 for the season.

Woo Hoo! The team is on a great run and is undefeated as of yet when Luongo starts games. Our commitment to defense has helped, although the team allowed 4 goals, the PK was 1 for 6 including a huge 5 minute kill in the third.
The Carter-Forsberg-Hossa line continues to click as they each had a point, Carter led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist. Bring on the Nords for CuJo's possible first start

Leafs beat BJ's 6-2.

Nice win for the Leafs coming off a loss yesterday. The game was closer than the score. Shots were close and the game was tied at 2 halfway through the third frame. But the Leafs broke out with 4 goals in the last 10 minutes to put the game away.

Langkow, Hejduk, and Redden all had a goal and assist each. Mike Fisher had 3 assists. Lundqvist was good enough.

Bad news on the injury front though. Dan Hinote was speared 30 seconds into the game by Brian Pothier. He's expected to miss at least a week. He joins Marleau, Horton, and Norstrom who are all nearing full health but not quite there.

Leafs face off with the Debbies on Wednesday night, the last game of 5 in a row. After that it's 2 off days. Hopefully we can get through one more game playing solid hockey and then get a little healthy.

Flames run and gun with the Yotes!
Flames 7 Coyotes 6

who said 30 something was old? Not I, says the GM. And its quite apparent that Glen Murray doesnt think its old either. Glen was the leader of the pack in this run and gun game and he was the winner of the Safeway Score and Win by popping 4 goals agains the Coyotes.
Patrick Sharp also continues to impress by poppng another 2 goals in this outting. This kid is gonna be damn scarey if his ratings improve mid season. If this is what he can do already, whats gonna happen if his SC goes up by 5 pts or so

Goalie Statistics

Kevin Weekes (FLA), 5 saves out of 6 shots
Miikka Kiprusoff (FLA), 23 saves out of 28 shots, W, 10-6-2
Vesa Toskala (COY), 15 saves out of 20 shots
Yan Danis (COY), 15 saves out of 17 shots, L, 3-2-1

Power Play Conversions

FLAMES 0 for 5
COYOTES 3 for 7

Game Stars

1 - Glen Murray (FLA)
2 - Alexei Kovalev (FLA)
3 - Bill Guerin (FLA)

Well Brian Pothier had something else to do apparently today as he hit the showers 32 seconds into the game. Jaroslave Halak made a save....also let in a goal. Better luck next time. Oh well regroup and try again tommorrow.

Hmm, not the result I was looking for. At least I did call a run and gun game yesterday, I knew my mentioning the Yotes and Flames as the 2 best defensive teams would jinx us.

Captain Mats left town with a goal and an assist, incoming Sakic also had a gaol and an assist in his last game with the Wild.

I was gonna yell at the Commishes for not using my correct lines, Toskala was supposed to rest again for rest (he obviously coulda used the nught off), then I got my lines email returned for some reason. KG your off the hook...this time.

Handzus and Rucinsky each had 3 point nights. Somehow by not getting my correct lines the sim decided Milan Jurcina should be called up and given the most ice time for any player on either team (26 mins). He did tally 2 assists but was a -4.

Oh well, the next 3 days off hopefully lets Toskala rest to 100%, 7 days didn't do it last time.

The Predators continued their recent success with an 8-4 win over the Red Wings. Steve Sullivan had his best night as a Predator with a hat trick, and Ruslan Salei was not only a plus player on the night, but had 3 assists!

The home and home with the Wings wraps up in Nashville now, where the Preds look to extend the win-streak to seven.

Back to losing again now eh? So be it.

Joe Sakic with 2 points in his final game as a Wild.
