Ho Ho Ho Banned from Santa's Vocabulary
...At least in the land down under.
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22738300-2,00.html
Quote:
A Santa veteran of 11 years told the Sunday Herald Sun the instructions were clear: "No 'ho ho ho'."
"We were told to say 'ha ha ha Merry Christmas'," he said.
Two Santa hopefuls reportedly left the course after the edict.
Family Council of Victoria spokesman Bill Muehlenberg described the ban as "nonsensical".
"Potentially any big guy in a red suit with a white beard is scary but I don't think him saying 'ho ho ho' would damage a child's psyche.
"Let's just concentrate on the kids having a good time."
A survey of Melbourne children yesterday found universal support for Santa's "ho ho ho".

If ho, ho, ho isn't allowed, what about ha, ha, ha? Isn't that sexist? He should be saying ha he ha, or he she he she. This is stupid.

This whole issue is making fun of the stutterers.
Why isn't anyone thinking of the stutterers?

Great we're so concerned with political correctness, and seeing sexism and slangism and other things in everything that we do that we're going to become a very bland and (term banned because it would upset the sensitivities of anyone who hates ice cream).
Its good to see that whereas other people look at improving their next generation or giving their kids a sense of social agility and toughness. We're focuses on raising a next generation of overly sensitive (term banned because it would make folicle deficient individuals upset) (term banned because it calls in to question the ability for people to hold onto their lunch money) wusses.

That's what its like in South Central.
When I first heard this on the radio yesterday at first I laughed but then I got mad.
I can't stand how everything now is P.C. out of fear of being sued or offending someone. Drives me crazy.

I actually think there has been similar junk like this happening for a long time, but now when it is reported it has the chance to be an international story.
This is an Australian story. Before the internet, what are the chances that anyone outside of the local region would have heard about this?
So is this really happening more often, or is the fact that we can hear about it happening anywhere in the world mean it just seems like it is happening more often?

How about Buy Buy Buy, I mean we are a politically correct consumer driven society.

that is lame.
i also worry about the future of society in a world where people think of this rather than suffering, war, etc, etc.

GOOD!
I'm glad to see this horribly offensive phrase banned. I'm horrified whenever I hear this slang used against women.
On a related note, I just came from Home Depot's gardening section and will be writing them a very sternly worded letter about sexism.

I was thinking the same thing.
I heard in a few towns in the states that Halloween was banned. Instead they were having fall festivals. The one town's reasoning was that the holiday was offensive to practicing pagan witches.

I'm still wondering what this will do to Santa's Postal Code.

When the radio announced that Santa was getting rid of his three hos in Australia, I just had to laugh.
