Default Jets News Conference
Just minutes after winning their 2nd game of the year the Winnipeg Jets announced that GM Walsh has decided to step down as the teams first and only GM.

It is not an easy decision to make but sometimes personal issues get in the way. As of right now I am not able to committ the necessary time to the Jets or to the league, I am certain there is someone waiting in line who can give just alittle more right now.

I have enjoyed every minute of time in the league. I have meet several of you down in Calgary (Kris, Axel, Drew, and a few others), I met up with KG in Edmonton and we a great runaway at BPs before I left him to go to Diamonds. I watched the Flames one night at Shanks with Syl. You really do get an opportunity to meet some great people. I mentioned to both KG and Grant that I will be back once life slows down and works itself out. I will keep checking from time to time. All the best everyone!

Whoa! Was so not expecting this. Sorry to see you go and I hope all the personal stuff sorts itself out. Take care man. I wasn't around in 2005 but I heard you made a good run vs the Wild and were a good GM! All the best Mike!

Mike has helped out many a GM and was a mentor to me when I broke into the league. Thanks for all your help. It is sad to see you go but reassuring that you will be back.
