Default Luongo experiment officially over in Disneyland

The Ducks have pulled off a major deal today officially ending the luongos career with Anaheim. He is a talented goalie but could not make a critical save if his life depended on it. We were sick and tired of his bad performance and are glad to move on. This move is yet another gigantic shakeup by the ducks but the team just hasnt been winning so something had to be done. This ends to streak of many trades and we will be slowing things down in attempt to give the team some chemistry moving forward. The only issue that still needs to be addressed is the acquisition of a top 4 D man but that can be dealt with later.

To the Ducks:
Ryan Miller
Thomas Vanek
Perttu Lindgren

To the Hawks:
Roberto Luongo
Corey Perry
2 mill

We like Perry but the addition of Vanek provides us with some help up front and soldifies our top 2 lines. Ryan Miller is a great young goalie who we feel can step in and make the saves at the key moments. We are glad to see Roberto go, normally we wish our former players well but the Ducks GM Ravi will go on record declaring his dislike of Roberto (and this has nothing to do with the fact that he is the Canucks goalie....)

This trade is pending league approval just to let you guys know.

Solid, solid deal by the Ducks here I think.

The gap separating Ryan Miller and Roberto Luongo is a lot smaller than the gap between Vanek and Perry. No argument from me that Luongo is in a whole different class than Miller right now, but the Vanek-Perry swap really tips the scale here for Anaheim.

I personally blame the teams in front of Luongo for making him look bad

That was the case in Pittsburgh I think.

I think this is a solid deal all around! Both teams get solid players!

The Hawksd trade the Better CPHL goalie and the better CPHL Forward and they trade one of there top 6 d-men, leaving a hole till Boucher gets back.

Hawks get hosed in this trade. Just cause he's a name goalie in the NHL doesn't mean the Sim gods have to like him

Yeah, that's an important thing I think to consider in the CPHL. If the player just doesn't perform in the SIM -- and that certainly seems to be the case right now for Roberto -- his 80+ rating means squat when he's playing like a 70 goalie. Has an 80+ player ever been traded this often in the first two months of a CPHL season?

Well as I learned when I tapped Anaheim's MSN......I really like this deal for Anaheim. As Kev already mentioned, the gap between Miller/Luongo is smaller then Vanek/Perry and that's why I like it a lot for the Quack Attack. Luongo is the best player in the deal NHL wise but CPHL wise Vanek/Miller is a lot stronger then Luongo/Perry imo. With that being said, Dan gets ov wise one of the top 3 goalies in the league and that's not a bad thing at all. Nice deal guys.

I think Anahiem wins this hands down. Vanek is signed for the next few years as well, which is a good spot to be in with him. I figured that Luongo would be moved pretty soon in talking with Ravi...I am surprised in how quick a deal was reached though!

Love the deal for Anaheim. Honestly I might even call the Luongo for Miller swap even. Sure Luongo is rated 3 points higher overall, but when you're talking about 2 goalies over 80OV I'm not sure it matters much. Either goalie can outperform the other in the sim depending on the team in front of them. Throw in the fact that Miller is younger and cheaper...

And obviously Vanek is way better than Perry without question.

Well in terms of the Miller for Luongo thing....I think they're both ugly, mulleted cross eyed freaks. So I call that even up. Vanek has pretty golden locks, but Perry himself looks like he takes care of himself. So in terms of look....each team gets an ugly goaltender and a pretty boy forward.

I like the Luongo side of the deal, without question.
