Small Town High School makes big time news

Haven't really heard that much about these kids even here in close proximity though it is a given that they are a football power.
They scored 70 something points in the first quarter last weekend.

They are a high school football team, a superb one that has won 51 games in a row and three consecutive state championships, and has outscored opponents this season, 704-0.
Yikes! That's an amzing record!

They beat that undefeated Oakley team 56-0 tonight too...so make it 760-0 this year.
Unreal.

Frankly I would bet it's boring. My son's team last outdoor season was killing team after team and I was impressed/proud. Till my son came up to me and told me he was bored. He said something along the lines of "When will we play a game where it's actually a game"? I know as a coach that I've been in that situation where we just couldn't lose and it was intensely boring. I much more enjoyed where we still won but it was a battle all the way.

Great point. I'll be that is an interesting dynamic for the coaches and players to deal with. Makes it even more amazing.
Hopefully some of those kids get to play in college at some level.

well, here in alberta, raymond should be a tier 4 team (schools w/enrollment below 449) but they are the top ranked team in tier 1 (schools with enrollment of 1250+). I guess it's different in the states. it's not US football i know, but it's nice to challenge your athletes.

It can still be done. When I was coaching football our team won constantly so we looked for games to give them a challenge. We would play a couple of exhibitions a year against higher tiered teams to give them a challenge and keep their heads from ballooning.

Nope. 200 miles away and I haven't seen them play.
Trust me though, when you are dealing with small town high school football in the Midwest it is not a stretch that a town like this can develop players from Pop Warner on that are vastly superior to other small towns. Happens more than you might think.
Besides, why do I have to prove anything? You're the one throwing around assumptions.

That's how internet debates work. One person makes a crazy assumption or unsupportable assertion. Someone else says it's baseless and can't be proven. The original person says prove me wrong. An inane argument ensues.
I was trying to draw a completely irrelevant parallel between this high school team and the New England Patriots with respect to allegations of poor sportsmanship and running up the score. The "prove it isn't not exactly what they are not doing" comment was meant to be sarcastic but may have been chalked up to poor grammar.

As the opposition i would be more pissed off/embarassed if somebody had to pull back when they played me because of pity. Give me your 100% all the time, even if it makes me look worse...that way I know, when I DO beat you, it came from an honest battle.

Well, if you're scoring that much in the first quarter, you still need ot play your top players a while to let them develop. Im guessing they have a few pretty decent players there, and Im sure those kids and their families wouldnt like seeing them sit on the bench for 3.5 quarters every week when they are trying to find college positions.

Did you even read the article?
I'm guessing no, because you'd have seen that it specifically said that they took their starters out after their first three touchdowns, and that the other team just kept giving up turnovers that turned into touchdowns.
The coach told the team to just run out of bounds if they got free and that's what they did. The final score was 83-0 after putting up 70 in the first quarter so obviously they did slow things down.
Geeze why not try reading the article before you make a stupid comment like that.
