Well at long last he's finally going to retire. I guess he get's a nice cushy union job now. Almost Ironic that he and Forsberg could end up retiring at the same time. The other guy from that draft who's HOF worthy is also sort of in limbo himself not having made up his mind whether he'll keep playing or not. Interesting isn't it?

Oh well Drew can enjoy big E for a couple more days! Send out 31 emails offering him up, you might get a taker! He could be the next Jonathan Girard.

Posted in the other thread on CP you made but i'll say it again, he's a lock for the HOF in my opinion. Tough luck for Drew, but i'm sure he knew it was coming.

Yep, folks knew this one was coming. The key question is will there be a few more announcements this year.....

As for the HOF, personnally I would like to see this guy make the HOF but I believe he will have a tough time getting in. He is not a well liked player in my opinion and this will cause him problems......

Yeah considering that it is media people who have votes on this matter thats not neccessarily going to work in his favor. I would say keep him out.....except that they've already admitted guys who accomplished less in their career than he did. I loved Cam Neely, but the numbers state that Lindros was a more productive player and they both have the same number of rings. Given that precedent, and Bernie Federko....he has to get in. But the media tends to be pretty petty at times...although with his new job he might become buddy buddy with enough of them that they'll soften up and let him in eventually.

Cam Neely and Eric Lindros are two totally different breeds, no way could they be compared to each other. Not saying one should be in the HoF and not the other

Well the comparison between the two is that they both were power foward types and they both had their careers cut short by injury. As a result I tend to compare the stats of the players. Whether it should be or not...thats another question, but really who esle can you compare Lindros to from the last 25 years who is in the Hall of Fame? No two players are alike...but there always are comparables and opinions will always differ.

I would see Lindros more like a Bryan Trottier, maybe not as physical as Trottier but a strong presence that was hard to move off the puck with great offensive abilities.

You may say, yeah that sounds like a power forward, it seems like that term is one thats used to describe anyone.... it's not uncommon for it to be in reference to Peter Forsburg if you can believe it. For myself maybe I'm still stuck in the past where power forwards were Neely, wendy clark, Brendan Shanahan

don't know why but it alway made me shake my head when players John Leclair would be called power forwards
