Yup, what Helsa said. If you're going from Advance to Oasis, I'm assuming it's b/c your prescription is 1+ years old? If so, bite the bullet and get a new contact lens fitting. You'll get some trials for your effort

Don't mess with this. Get a fitting. Contacts are cheap these days.
Bad fitting contacts can lead to a host of problems, including corneal scarring, which you won't notice until its too late.
Saving $50 bucks but taking even a slight risk on something so important is a bad bad decision.

Makes a big difference... I wanted to do the same kind of switch but the difference in curvature just didn't work out. I went thought the fitting process and all and It was just too uncomfortable to uses it. I have an astigmatism to that might make a difference but in the end I had to use the ones with the correct curvature..

Dude. Don't order contacts online. You are much better getting a proper fitting.
People have actually needed cornea transplants in some cases after their eyes have been scarred due to improperly fitted contacts. That is extreme, but its still not worth it to order online.
Get a proper fitting.

Get a fitting, and then order online. If my eyes seem the same after the first year, I'll just reorder the same contacts. I always go to the eye doctor the next year to make sure I'm healthy and not going blind or anything.

where online do you buy them???
My contacts seem rather expensive, and i wouldn't mind trying to buy them online.

One thing about buying contacts from my Optometrist...if I lose the left eye...or if there is something wrong, he'll replace it at no charge.
Plus I can try out any contact I like after my 6 month subscription is up....and see if I like them better....at no cost.
And I have the peace of mind knowing that I'm not going blind.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll ask this here...
Anybody have any suggestions where to go to look for prescription safety glasses?
I'm looking for something that I could wear for general use without looking like a twit. My coverage only gives me $100 back for regular glasses, but if they're safety glasses I get the whole thing paid for, so I'd rather go that route if I can find a pair that're half fashionable.

You can get them at most optometry offices... unfortunately the frames are not the greatest. You basically get to pick from about 20 to 30 frames.... the safety frames have to be CSA approved to be covered... and those are mostly ugly. The Lenses look the same as any others... they are just polycarbonate, and virtually indestructible. Check them out and see if there is anything that intrests you...

I'm looking at getting contacts online. I only need 5 days worth, as we are going to mexico for a week, and the optometrist wants to sell me 30 days for $80. They are half that online. They sent me my prescription. Do i have to worry about the cylinder and axis values??? Or is is just the sphere i have to be worried about? I have worn these contacts a year ago, so just want to make sure i'm ordering the right perscription.

I've been using Discount Countact Lenses. Depends on exactly which pair you get, but is usually cheaper. With the exchange rate, I pay literraly about 1/3 of what I would at the optometrist. Was thinking of ordering a different type though, but I'll jsut stick to my perscription until I can get a fitting.

Are your contacts Toric Dailies?? or just regular Dailies ?? Just send them the Rx... if they are regular dailies then you take half the cylinder and add it to the Sphere... ignoring the Axis.
If they are toric Dailies, you will need the Cylinder/axis.
Just remember... if you are buying contacts online you should still be wearing them for the alloted approved period of time. Poor compliance with contact lenses is an epidemic, and there are many people that can no longer where contacts of anykind because of eye infections, or damage to the cornea. Regular yearly or every two year checkups are a must for any contact lens wearer...

They are just regular acuvue daily contacts. I used to wear contacts daily, but have gone back to glasses. I go yearly for checkups, and take good care of my eyes.
So, if my prescription is
Sphere -7.25 Cylinder -1
I will order a -7.75???
Thanks for your help. Its much appreciated!
