I saw this on the news.
That looked crazy. Other than the footage and suspensions, I haven't read the whole story yet.

I can't believe dude it blue went all Guillermo Mota and dived into the bench like that. Other things that are hard to believe: red guy #2 doing the Flying Wallenda into the bench and red guy #3 who gives the armed raised 'what' to the ref.

when that dude was on the news justifying his actions it was kind of embarassing. i understand you want to defend your teammates, but there are ways of going about it that don't include roid rageing and chasing people around

Hockey is such a barbaric sport. If you tried anything like this in a civilized sport like soccer, you'd be banned for life, no question. Canadians wonder why their sport hasn't caught on anywhere else in the world, well this is why folks.

Right. Soccer is so civilized. No head-butting or anything. No riots or anything.

Good ole Maritime Jr. A hockey. The guys from the university I believe it was, tape this and the coach tries to buy them off so the tape doesn't get released. Priceless. They should have asked him for "One million dollarzzzzzz!!!"
I went to a few Maritime Jr. A games back in the day and although never having seen anything quite like that, it doesn't surprise me. The only surprise is you don't see more of these highlights on TV because I seem to recall seeing them on local TV down there quite often while I was living/growing up there.

Other than Grande Prairie, I haven't seen massive brawls like that in the AJHL.
But when you get up north where the local refs often seem younger than the players, I've seen some nasty incidents. Including once where the fans were throwing garbage on the ice in frustration, a Bonnyville player grabbed a cup of beer that landed face up, chugged it and saluted the crowd. That went over well.

I'm predicting a long life here at CP, filled with thought provoking posts and remarkable insight. That is, if the ban hasn't come down yet. How did you even find this place? And what can we do to prevent your type from showing up in the future?

Deoxyribonucleic Acid, for example... sounds impressive, right? But have you ever seen what happens if you put something in acid? It dissolves! If we had all this acid in our cells, we'd all dissolve! So much for the Theory of Evolution, Check MATE!

Did anyone else see them talking about this on HockeyCentral today? I just thought it was kind of funny to hear a guy who had his career ended by an injury suffered during a fight say "what's the worst that's gonna happen?".

The clown that jumped into the bench should be done. Just done. Embarrassing. Also, that guy that tucked his stick between his legs and ran to the bench for safety - WTF? His coach should suspend him for being a b****.

Agreed on both accounts. And what's strange is the red clown pops right up behind the bench untouched and proceeds to move down and grab a guy.
I dunno, if someone entered my bench in that fashion, kamikaze style, I maybe wouldn't let him up so easily.

At that level of hockey, I wouldn't be scared to use my stick as a weapon. Broken stick across his face with some splinters in his lips would have slowed the jerk down.

I was at the Fort McMurray Oil Barons game when the Hobbema Hawks climbed the boards to attack the fans. The players tossed their sticks to the fans. The fortunate ones were knocked off the top of the glass and onto the ice. The unlucky one that got over had his ass kicked by a former hockey goon.
Gotta love small town Jr A hockey.

Interesting though, that the lower the stakes, the increase in destructive behavior. Story of some of these fellers lives, I guess.
