Lindy Ruff was the named the best coach in the CPHL at the end of last season. That awards ceremony was the last high point Ruff has felt as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens expected by many to be the cup favorites heading into the season have struggled mightily this season and currently find themselves sitting 27th overall in the league and 15th in the Gretzky conference 6 points out of the playoffs only 15 games into the season.
The Pens have given Ruff 10 games to turn it around before his team that is supposed to be a powerhouse gets dismantled. If the Pens are out of contention by then expect Ruff to be left with a team of youth and virtually no shot at the playoffs.
The Pens next 10:
PENGUINS at RANGERS
SENATORS at PENGUINS
LEAFS at PENGUINS
PENGUINS at DUCKS
PENGUINS at ISLANDERS
RANGERS at PENGUINS
CANADIENS at PENGUINS
PENGUINS at KINGS
SENATORS at PENGUINS
PENGUINS at CAPITALS
If The Pens cannot show drastic improvement and some consistency over this stretch then the team will look very different.
