Hello everyone I just ordered a new camera on ebay and the backlight is burnt out or something. Does anyone know of any shops here is calgary that would sell just the backlight? I have seen it for other models on ebay but not mine. My camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-N1. Any suggestions would be great!!

Also how difficult would it be to do myself I dont have a warranty anyways, or would it still be best to get it done, any idea of what the cost would be?

check out The Camera Store. I'm not sure if they do service on Sony's but I know they fixed the backlight on my parents Cannon when it burnt.

thanks i will try them, they sell my camera there so... and i got a really really good deal on it, except for the backlight

I don't have the address on me, but there's a place in Calgary called Alta Camera Service. They do repair work on all cameras that are not under warranty. I believe they are on 10th Ave downtown. Actually, they are very close to the Camera Store.

Good people to deal with.

when i called the camera store they suggested either sony or alta camera service.

^^^^ I agree Westpeak is good especially if your camera is Sony. I just took my Cybercamera at Westpeak on Thursday afternoon because I keep getting the "Access Error and turn off and turn it back" on message.
Anyways, I got a message on my phone yesterday that my camera is ready to be picked up. I am talking less than a day. The place is right behind Sheraton Hotel in Barlow.
