Think about it: 119 beers in six hours. That’s a beer every three minutes, non stop. That’s beyond epic. It’s beyond the ken of mortal men. It’s god-like.
good lord, wouldn't most people die from alcohol poisoning long before the 100 mark? i'd hate to see what kind of morning after piss he took, must have had to stand in front of the toilet for a good hour

I'm glad I got to see Andre in person in 1989 at a WWF event , he wasn't the most skilled wrestler but he was so charismatic .

Saw Andre wrestle here in Calgary at the Annual stampede wrestling show at the corral during stampeded week, late 70's early 80's.

It was a lot of fun, the Maguire twins were also on the card that night, they had to be fork lifted into the ring.

after about 5 minutes I'd probably swallow my pride, pinch it off for a second and take a seat. I'm too lazy for a 60 minute piss.

i remember reading in Hulk Hogan's autobiography a chapter about how he would travel with Andre while in Japan. Hogan made the point of mentioning that Japanese bathrooms were a little too small for Andre, and one afternoon Hogan came back from a match or working out or something, and Andre had spread out a few newspapers on the bed and taken a huge crap, instead of using the toilet.

The stories that I've heard people tell (wrestlers and fans alike) have been absolutely golden, and it's obvious to see that Andre was well-loved by many, many people.

That's awesome - 17 beers for a pre-match warmup, and it didn't even hinder his in-ring abilities.

The man is a legend in his own right, and wrestling was probably just an afterthought for him.
