WINNIPEG (CFL.ca wire) -– Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers offensive lineman Steve Rodehutskors died on Thursday following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Rodehutskors spent a total of eight seasons in the Canadian Football League. He played for the Blue Bombers from 1987 until 1991 and won pair of Grey Cup championships with the team in 1988 and 1990.
A collegiate standout with the University of Calgary Dinosaurs, Rodehutskors helped the Dinos win back-to-back Vanier Cup national championships in 1985 and 1986.
Following a successful football career, Rodehutskors worked briefly as a stockbroker before becoming a veterinarian.
He is survived by his wife and three sons.
Funeral services for Rodehutskors will be held Thursday, Nov. 1 in Strathmore, Alberta.
