Default Air compressor Q's

I'm looking at getting an air compressor. I'm wanting it so I can hook up a brad nailer and use it for building things like bird houses, bird feeders, and other general carpentry stuff like bookcases, end tables, etc.

This is the one I'm looking at except it doesn't come with a finishing nailer and is $249.

At some point I may want to be able to run a framing nailer incase I take on a bigger project. This one is 6 gallon and rated at 2.6 SCFM @ 90 psi. Does anyone know if this will run a framing nailer?

Also, what kind of stuff would a finishing nailer be used for that a brad nailer couldn't?

I run a framing nailer off of a 135PSI Porter all the time (this one is rated at 150PSI, with the same tank). It will also run a sheathing stapler, but can't keep up to a big roof being stapled off.

If you are not teeing-off to run more than one gun, you won't have any problems, IMO.

You don't want to go above 115 PSI on a Brad Nailer, (I think.) The one you posted should do fine, as will algernon's suggestion.

That's a good choice for finish work. It will run a spiker if needed, but is a nice compact compressor for smaller work. I'm on my second one like that. I use it for finish carpentry and have two larger compressors for framing.
