Excellent, I should be on time to see it, this speech will be an interesting indictment on the Liberal Leadership.
We know that the NDP and Bloc will not support this speech even if it comes with a new puppy for every Canadian. If Dion dosen't vote against it, he throws away Kyoto as his big platform. I expect that the Liberal's will skirt around it by making sure that they have a huge rate of no shows so that they can vote against it but not trigger an election.

I think Dion and the liberal's vote in confidence of the bill. Their party isn't ready (at all) for an election. That and the Kyoto accord's problems have been blown out of the water...And It's a death trap to run a campaign based on it.

I think Harper thinks its better to just outright say that Kyoto is not achievable and to be able to use the Liberal'a lack of action on it as a direct cause as to why it can't be done. Even if Kyoto goes away, its likely that the Liberal's will use a large environmental hammer in the next election, and Harper will be able to point to his honesty on environmental issues, whereas the Liberal's did nothing and continued to spout about it.
Just my 2 cents.

In my mind, that's like me saying "I'm going to try to stick to this rice and water diet, so I can lose all the weight I need to." But in reality there's no way I can. So instead of agreeing to something impossible, I say "let's skip the rice diet and find something that I can manage and stick with."

Umm, I looked all over Bit torrent and couldn't find it, I thought it was leaked...
Seriously though, the Kyoto is the big issue in my eyes (and most others too). And this could possibly be the straw that breaks this camels (governments, or Dion's dogs) back.

Is it wrong to have really lurid thoughts about the Governor General?

Can somebody cut the pull string off of Layton? The same thing from him, day in and day out. Talks a big game on what's wrong, but when pressed, has no original ideas or details for anyone to take him seriously.

I'm no fan of Jack, but how is that notable? Hasn't that been the same story of the federal NDP for decades, regardless of leader? They have no real ideas other than "increase taxes (especially for corporations) and "spend the taxpayers' money like a drunken sailor".
