Default U.S. Transcontinental rally record broken

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/16/t...roken-details/

Quote:
If you were scouring the interwebs yesterday, you might have come across a story about Team Polizei's record-breaking transcontinental run from New York to L.A. Our friends over at Jalopnik were present at the start and finish lines, with Spinelli seeing Alex Roy and Dave Maher off from the Classic Car Club in NYC, and Davey G. present at the Santa Monica pier when the team arrived 31 hours and four minutes later – substantially undercutting the previously record of 32:07

So a book and a full length movie are coming out, which can be found at http://www.32hours7minutes.com/.

your link doesn't work. how many miles was the trip? how many miles / hour did they average?

Never mind, I see 90MPH there now. Thats crazy, but super cool. Will watch for when the DVD comes out.

I don't know how it would be illegal. I had an ex cop car I picked up at an auction. It was kind of funny and frustrating when I inadvertently followed people, as they would stay right at the speed limit.

I'm assuming that you never used any flashing lights or sirens though. If they were doing that then it would be quite illegal.

Not really, I can pretty much pick out any cop car or ex cop car on the road in Calgary. There are certain tell tail signs such as the missing hubcaps and the stance of the car because of it 's heavy duty suspension. Mine still had the shot gun rack on the dash and drive shaft hump. Believe me it seemed to spook some people, not that that was my intent.

Do they re-enable the daytime running lights before they sell those?

Pretty sweet. I remember seeing some of the videos of Alex Roy and his antics from the Gumball rally.

I didn't get that until it was posted on top of each other.

Sigh... terrible joke.

If Fotze jumped on your back, would you beat him off?

OK, you clearly need a few bucks to outfit yourself with a car like that. And on top of it, they had a chase plane? Wow, lifestlyes of the rich, eh?
