Default Ever See An Ad That Makes Your Brain Come To A Screeching Hault?

As I was surfing over Yahoo! Sports NHL section, I noticed this:

http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/9...hopelecpp0.gif

"Be a better shopper, buy the latest electronics" with a photo of the old Nano.

Ummmm, anyone else find that a little strange?

I thought this was gonna be about the You're A Winner!!!! ads...

There's some stupid ad for Fanta that's on TV and before movies at the theaters now that totally makes my brain lock up. Some animated thing with a little pudgy dude lipping off a cop-type whistle-headed robot thing. Dont like it one bit...

The Subaru add with all the German engineers in it.

"The Japanese car the Germans wish they'd made"

How stupid is that? Didnt you just essentially admit that all German cars are better than every Japanese car other than this particular one?

Someones should be getting fired for this nonsense.

I hate the WestJet ad with some moronic family coming back from some sunny vacation in shorts and t-shirts, hearing it will be -12 out at home and the idiot flight attendants switch clothes with them.

One of the banner ads I have seen recently on a blog I frequent was for a toilet... that will make you "happy, clean and confident".

Its a little overplayed now, but I thought that commercial was hilarious! I got a serious thing for cheesy-ass 80's music though, so that may have been the selling point for me...

Its not an ad I've seen, but if I have to hear that stupid Volkswagen ad on the FAN one more time, the one with the guy doing the "You need a custom built low-rider" bit, I swear I will jam sharpened pencils into both ears.

What the heck is the deal with this stupid ad? I THINK they are advertising not just the dealership and the cars but that they are also recruiting. Kind of a "come work for us because it is fun and you will have fun selling cars" thing. Sure... if I worked at the Volkswagen dealership I could be FUNNY like that guy, and I would LOVE my job because I could joke around with the customers like that!

I actually want to throttle that guy, and the demented moron who thought up that ad!

I can't remember which car it was for...some hybrid SUV. I'm thinking Honda or Toyota.

But it has the car driving through the forest, advertising how "green" this vehicle is. It tries to give you the impression that driving this particular vehicle cleans the air as you drive. I don't think that's how hybrids work.

I was watching a Top Gear where they were reviewing a Porsche of some kind, and he said in (can't remember the city) the air coming out of the engine is less polluted than the air going in. I'll try to find the clip.

EDIT: Here it is. About a minute in.

Take it for what it's worth.

Oh, that may not be entirely untrue. But my point was as long as the dreaded CO2 is coming out of the exhaust pipe, driving a car, any car, isn't "better for the environment". Just maybe less bad.

Firefox with AdBlockPro and noscript works wonderfully so I don't have to look at Ads...

Damn, what product was being advertised on those commercials that had that group of wannabe gangstas around their pimped-out cars, and then the one dude with the big neck chain comes and and goes 'BBAAAAAMMMM!!?

I freakin' hate that guy. Wasn't this some kind of stupid fruit rollup commercial?

The other ad that I hate is that Crimestoppers ad found in buses. It has a pic of those kids pretending to be a carjacking gang? You know, the one with the girl woho looks like vintage, drugged-up Courtney Love? Yeah, that one. And that stupid phrase 'You like your car? We like it too.' And then the caption is something like, 'part-time carjackers, full-time criminals'.... frack, I wanna tear that ad down. It's not the message its sending, its the incredibly dorky way in which its being sent. And, i think it's bene around since like 1999...

My current favourite is a local ad in the Lower Mainland for the VanCity Credit Union's enviroVisa. I can't find a link for it anywhere, but I still snicker everytim I see it, despite the fact that my wife thinks I'm a dork every time that I do.

Pop tarts. I think there were 2 or 3 commercials along this vein.
