Can you believe that it has been 63 days since the lockout??

To quench my thirst of hockey in any possible way, I bought myself a 'vintage' jersey from ebay. Now keep in mind that this isn't a 'new' jersey in the old style, but is was actually manufactured back in the day.

Here is my question to you all:

Is it me or is it that the old jerseys have bad craftsmanship? The one I got has sewn on lettering and crest but seems to have shoddy stitching. As well, are all of the white/gold crests cut funny? I have seen other old style jerseys and think that those are also the same way.

The point is, besides putting up with some of the snags on the fabric, should this be grounds for a grievance with the seller?

Thanks for any help, I'm a noob and expect some flak for some of my stupidity..please be gentle.

Yes they are very crappy! I have an old Flames jersey from the eighties and compared to the quality of today's store bought jersey's the older one's are poorly made. The flaming C has threads sticking out and the jersey itself is made with cheap material. It would be better just to buy the new vintage jerseys if someone is looking for quality. I just hang my old jersey for the memories. I will admit though I did wear it during the last playoff run!

Thanks for your reply calgaryred,

your response eases my mind that I have not been conned.

As an aside, does anybody out there know where I can get a jersey frame/case? (at a reasonably lower cost?)
I've recently purchased something that I feel deserves the treatment but am hesitant to shell out $300.

thanks again,

Bean

I would go to Jersey City and ask I know they have jersey cases up with autographed jersies for sale. If you talk to the manager I'm sure he could contact someone at head office to find out for you.
