My keyboard is French in Vista

ok, so my laptop which runs vista has this annoying habit of whenever I hit some (currently unknown) combo of keys it turns french, so my question marks come out É and à and lots of other garbage.

Anyone know what this key combo is so I can undo it without restarting, or maybe even how to disable it all together.

I had something similar happen to me. Open the start menu / Control Panel / Clock, Language and Region / Change keyboards or other input methods.

There you see the option to switch keyboard to desired format.

I tried this, and it didnt change anything, whenever I hit this`secret combonation`I go back to french

There might be a little bar on the top that has the letters FR or something like that on it, click on that and see if u can change it to EN

That bar is either on ur task bar at the bottom, or a tiny bar by itself at the top of ur desktop screen

Make sure you pick english american. English canadian will give you the weird little letters.

I have this same issue on my computer at work. I ended up setting up the little keyboard switcher in my taskbar so that whenever it flips into french I can go back and change it to US english, but I'd love to figure out how to disable it, or even figure out what the secret key combo is so I can avoid doing it.

I did that once as well. On my computer there is a little keyboard on the right hand side of the task bar. If you have one there you should be able to click it and select "US".
