Default Def Leppard at the Dome....

I was and I have to say that I was truly amazed as to how the sound quality can go from being so good for Styx when they played their set to
absolutely crappy when Def Leppard came on stage.

To me it seemed that DL was just there to go through the motions and displayed absolutely no energy at all.

The volume was cranked to the point that the instruments drowned each other out and it all sounded like a dull rumble.

Joe Elliot couldn't sing last night to save his life....

I was on the side so that may have had something top do with it....

Thumbs up for Styx...

Two thumbs down for Def Leppard...

Anyone else there on the floor or directly in front of the stage ???

What did you think ????????

I was also there and agree about Joe Elliott's voice and the sound mixing. Very poor. However, I thought the rest of the band were doing their best to make up for it - Phil Collen and Viv Campbell in particular. It was really aggravating how the system would be muting Joe's voice when he tried to hit the higher notes on the register.

Styx did have a lot of pep. I saw Larry Gowan jump around a show in 1985 and he has just as much energy 22 years later. Odd, though, that I only counted one of their songs from the 80s (Too Much Time On My Hands).

I have a radio DJ friend who attended the concert and said it was the first concert he could remember ever wanting to walk out of. All because of the vocals.

Not impressed with the vocals, but the band was awesome so it didn't really matter... that much.
