Default Waterton Park

What things are there to do in Waterton? I've never been there before and may be making a visit in a couple of weeks? What kind of sights are there, activities to do and places to stay in the area?

I have been there a few times and we will usually rent scooters and drive up to the falls. I can't remember the name of the falls but it only takes about 20 minutes to get there and it's a blast to drive on a scooter.

If you are referring to Cameron Falls, then I think you accidentally added a zero. Takes 10 minutes to walk from the falls to the place you rent scooters from.

Checkout the links below for lots of information.

Some of the popular things are:

- Red Rock Canyon.
- short hike from Red Rock to Blackiston falls.
- hike up bear's hump. Over looks the townsite.
- Cameron Lake. A couple short trails from there.
- Cameron Falls in the townsite
- Bertha Falls and Bertha Lake
- Ice Cream. It seems that everybody who goes to Waterton stops for ice cream.

Check out those websites, and if you have any questions about what you see, post them here and I or others will see what we can do to answer them.

Beautiful place.

Spend a week there every summer in our family cabin.

Lots of things to do...

Hiking
Fishing
Boating (bring your wetsuit if you plan on waterskiing)
Mtn biking
Scooter rentals
Shoreline cruises on the big lake
Gift shopping if your into that

There is even an old rundown movie theatre if you cant be without your city conveniences for a while.

Tons of wildlife around the townsite. Saw 4 different bears in the townsite alone while we were there last week.

As for the falls that COGENT was speaking of, I believe he is referring to Cameron Falls which is right in the townsite. Cant think of anywhere within town that would take 20 minutes to get to though unless you are walking.

Well worth the trip. One of the unspoiled gems that many arent aware of in this province.
