*sigh*
I had a friend a number of years ago saying (before he was ever diagnosed with anything), "With my luck, I'll start reading the series and he will die before he gets done."
When RJ was diagnosed, I reminded him of his quote.
And I too was frustrated at the lack of any progress the last few books. I started reading the series when I thought it was a trilogy. Then I would buy the next book as soon as it was released in paperback, then it was as soon as the book was released, but the last few I've been waiting for the hardcover to go in the discount bin, and I haven't even read the latest.
