Default Dell's Days of Deals are back

As Photon mentioned in the Wii thread, Dell's days of deals are back.
http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/topi...HS1&l=en&s=dhs

(of course- he posts the Wii at 11:42pm yesterday- )

Today's highlights are a 24" monitor for $600, and the basic Slingbox for $130.

If I didn't already have a Dell 24" monitor, I'd be all over it.

I was looking forward to this... just not the day after I bought a new house and feel the need to be frugle. The frugleness will wear off in time but not before the Dell Days of Deals is over. nuts.

Crap, I just got that monitor from Costco for $100 more! I can return it and get this of course.. but the Costco one comes with a 5 year advance exchange warranty. Warranty worth $100? Hm......

Some people have the 24" Dell monitors at work, they are amazing. Not that I am too jealous as I have two 19" Dell LCD's.

Anyone have experience with the Slingbox? I was looking at those last year and couldn't justify $200 but now its only $130!!! I am hoping someone could give me a thumbs up before I go for it. It would sure be sweet to watch Crosby vs the Flames over the internet while im in Fiji...

edit: Got my answer at Red Flag Deals, Lots of discussion there about these deals.

Just a word to the wise, if are going to purchase that 24" dell monitor make sure that it is the newest revision (A04) if you are planning on hooking up your xbox 360 / ps3 to it.

That said, I absolutely love my 2407FPW, I purchased mine a few months ago and it's sheer ginormous size is still sinking into my brain.

edit: whoops, just realized it's the 2407WFP-HC model

I've got one, but I haven't tried that long of a distance.

The more bandwidth you have, the better. It all comes down to your bandwidth. From home you need good upstream bandwidth. And what sort of connection will you have in Fiji? If it is high-speed on both ends it would probably work fairly decently.

I've also been thinking about a Slingbox. Anyone have any advice on this? anyone use it? Is it helpful? I can afford top of the line so cost is no concern.

I think the only difference between the regular one ($130 today only) and the Slingbox pro ($280) is the type of connections on the back. The regular one shouldn't create issues unless you only have regular coaxial cable.

In that Red Flag Deals Forum someone was praising it (page 8 I think). I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot. I could report back to you next week after it shows up at my place but that will be too late for the deal.

Personally I will use it constantly with my Centre Ice package. I spend so much time in Calgary and my friends dont have Centre Ice so this way we can watch games through their computer which is hooked up to a tv. I also plan to give out the password for friends to log in and watch while I am at home watching on my tv too. This will probably earn me a few free beers.

Also, look at the printer section on the Dell site. If you order an all-in-one printer before Thursday, you get an extra $50 off.

Ugh I need a new monitor. Mines 16" Dell monitor but its not about 5 years old so the monitor is huge and takes up my whole desk.

I probaby won't buy it soon, so why don't you report back later.

If the game is on CBC then it will already be online.

I have used one to "borrow" my parents cable so I dont have to pay for it. Works very well for my useage.

Awesome deals yesterday, the 24" Wide and the Logitech 880.

I already have 2 Viewsonic 20" so I cant justify 600 for the wide but they are very good quality.

THe Eneloop batteries are a great deal! Ordered 2 sets but you need to give them 2 addresses.
$19 for 8 AA's

Are the Enelop any good, I have the Energizer quick charge 1500 and 2400 mA versions - any idea how they compare?

Just to point out, the Slingbox is still on today, if you click further into the "weekly deals" part.
