Cool, I'd love to see him speak. I'll have to keep an eye out for tickets.

Maybe in Great Alberta tradition, we can name a highway after him.

My mom met him. She is an artist that did a series of paintings in support of Tibet.

That is very cool!
I have a client who has a picture with him. I was pretty enthralled with the photo because it looks like they are in deep conversation in the picture. One day I asked him "so how/when did you get the meet the Dalai Lama?" He was laughing histerically! He says "Well that photo was actually taken at Madame Tussauds, but just made my day!!"

Needless to say, I felt like a complete fool...but it was amusing.

You should see the Penn & Teller's BS episode where they brought up the bad sides of people like him, mother theresa and Ghandi.

Eye opening stuff

I watched that, and honestly the part about the Dalai Lama was pretty weak. Of course there have been advances in Tibet since China took control...one would hope that time would not stand still! Also, seem to be rather US-focused in the sense that the religious still controlled Tibet and this was panned as being a bad way to govern. I am not saying that I would want to live there, but that doesn't mean that China should get control and that the Dalai Lama is a bad guy just because Penn and Teller disagree!

Obviously it does. The prop comic said so.

Yeah, it was weak alright. Almost invisible. There was nothing to it.

I don't go in for the Dalai Llama's brand of hocus pocus, but I'm pretty sure it's a better gig than a military invasion and 50 years of forced Communism. I wonder what the locals would say.

I think the best puzzled look from the Dalai Lama had to be
when during the turn of the millenium TV shows and interviews.
Ever the great journalist, Larry King asked him about Jesus Christ.

The Dalai Lama was speechless for a few seconds before recovering
nicely.

You've got the Dalai Lama for 10 minutes, and the best question
you can come up with relates to Christianity?

What exactly has the Dalai Lama done?

You always hear about him but I have never heard what he has actually done except defy China?

Thanks
