There are some free converters out there but they suck ass. I purchased Creator 8 and it does any conversion you want.

Sorry couldn't help you with the free portion.

avi2dvd, it is really easy to use, you can even build a menu pretty easily

To add it is free and it doesn't suck ass

I have been having trouble burning my video captures to DVD. Will the above mentioned program work or what should I use?

Bit OT, and dunno mods if this is fair game to discuss, but is there any way to connect a Shaw PVR to a laptop. I have a bunch of old Flames games on someone else's PVR that I want to put onto my laptop to watch at my house..

i've been using nero 7, you convert it with nero vision which is pretty simple and then you can burn it

Like Torture said, Nero Vision 7 Express!
It converts the .avi and then burns it with one click of the mouse, you don't have to screw around using different programs for each step.
It's free to download too.
