Fishing stores in Calgary

Hey CP,

We're getting ready to go on fishing trip at the end of August and I'm looking to upgrade my gear. I haven't bought much fishing gear since moving to Calgary, the little that I have bought is usually from Canadian Tire or WalMart.

Just curious if anyone knows of some good places to find rods, reels, tackle, etc.

Oh and the type of fishing I'll be doing is freshwater for pike, walleye, whitefish, etc. (no fly-fishing)

Wholesale sports is fantastic for all of your hunting/fishing needs.
They just opened up a new store in Deerfoot meadows down by Ikea.

They've got a website too, you can check that out.

On Deerfoot trail near the new IKEA there is a large sports store (just openned recently) use to be located on 58 AVE SE

Name of the store is "Wholesale Sports of Canada LTD" or the older name is "Frenchy's Sports Equipment".

Its a great store, there are other stores but most of them are more focused on Fly Fishing.
