Default Shaw Trade in promotion

Guys just a heads up for anyone looking to go back to shaw from satellite. Shaw is now taking any sat receiver in trade for a refurb'd DCT6412 HDPVR. I just picked up a 2900 of ebay for 20 bucks. They might try and tell you that its only a SD for a SD or HDPVR for HDPVR, but it is any sat receiver for a 6412 HDPVR smoking deal!!! But its only for new clients, is the only bad thing.

Refresh my memory; that's the one with the 120 GB hard drive; right?

And what all did they want? Last time I did a return I also had to give them my dish too.

Shaw CSRs are poorly trained. You can rarely get the correct answer from any of them even when you know what the facts are. Sometimes you gotta call back a bunch of times and always take names of who your talking to. And usually the employees working at the retail fronts at their offices know the true facts.

yeah the drive is 120gbs, I asked specifically what the model was and was told its a DCT6412 Phase III, so it has HDMI out as well. Yeah they asked for the dish, receiver and remote.

This is a great deal!

Let me ask you a few things:

1) Do they require you to go onto CFPP like they used to with the old sat swap?

2) Does this promotion come with any free programming?

3) How sticky are they on getting the actual dish itself? All I have is the reciever.

4) How hard did you have to push to get them to trade a SD receiver for a HD terminal?

1- When the install guy comes to install, they said have the reciever, sat and remote. Thats all they asked for.
2- It comes with a free one month of full programing preview.
3- I'm not sure how they are with this as, but on another board one guy said the tech didn't even ask for the dish just the receiver.
4- I didn't have to push at all, I told them this is the offer I heard was avaliable, she said its only sd for sd, hd for hd, I said please double check that, she came back and said your right! Theres a name for the promotion I'll double check when I get home.

If you bought the system at FS or Bestbuy then you own it, as for the one on the house if you bought it with it on it I'm guessing its yours now.

This post made my day! I've had it with BELL. they suck sooooo bad it's pathetic. I don't even care about Centre Ice anymore. I have 3 months left on my contract and I am going to pay the $500 cancellation fee i don't care.

I haven't had stable tv for the past 3 months even after 4 house calls.

one of my friends in engineering confirmed that Shaw is getting Center Ice for this season, but there's been no official word for it yet. i'm guessing that'll come late August/early September
