NHL 07 on PC
Sorry guys, I know there is a thread about this game somewhere, but I couldn't find it (I search NHL 07, EA Sports, NHL 2007, but nothing came up).
Anyway, I bought this game for PC and I find it to suck. The things I am hating about it are as follows:
1. No matter what player I have, how much I'm using speedbursts, and who I am racing against, I can never win races to the puck to beat out icings or to get an icing call against the other team.
2. It is difficult to throw a good hit. Even when using Regehr and Phaneuf I just bounce off of everybody.
3. The entire game play just seems slow.
I have checked all the game play settings. I set the speed to high, I've set speed burst effectiveness as high as it would go, and hitting difficulty as low as it would go. The game is still much slower, and the factors mentioned above are significantly worse thatn 06 on PS2 using more conservative settings.
Anybody else have these issues? Anybody know if/how I can fix them?

They release files that fix gameplay and rosters.

I bought it for PC when it came out and I must say I wasn't impressed either. After installing I had issues with it not even running so I had to search for a patch which was prety hard to find at the time...after finally being able to get it to run I was willing to accept a bit of hassel if the game was good enough, well that was another thing in itself...eventually I adapted and found some settings that helped gameplay but the goalies were just to easy to beat.
Being pretty much a seasoned vet at EA hockey since 94 or so I really need a challenge once I get used to a new version, simply did not find it here. EA has really slipped with its hockey the past few years in my opinion and I may just stick with the 2K series since they have stepped ahead of EA in every version ive played. Kind of a shame since EA used to make a really great hockey.

I've never won an icing race my forward is too slow. I find hitting is pretty good, especially hip checks! I always manage to injure 1 guy per game.
The game does look slow but the worse is the goalies, they still suck.
Kipper has let in goals from the blueline on many occasions!

I hope they work on the goalies for the next one. I like the graphics, and have never had a problem hitting and sometimes injuring players with a good hip check. As far as the icing, I've won only a few but it's hard to do often. My only complaint has to be the crappy goalies.

That's cause EA put all their focus on the 360 version. The PC version was developed at the Montreal studio and was pretty much NHL 06 1.1.
