If you own the vehicle, you can register it. Costs in Alberta are around $40 to $55, depending on the vehicle.

who drives it should be stipulated with the insurance company. Cant begin to guess the cost of insurance as it will depend on your driving history and the type of vehicle, as well as the area of Alberta you will be driving it in.

Again, many variables.

1. Past driving record
2. Age of vehicle
3. Model and make
4. Use of vehicle
5. Area where vehicle is going to be driven

Phone your local insurance company or registry. They should be able to give you the info.

FG- I have a feeling you'll be paying the max- with you never having driven, and the person who will be driving not being on the insurance policy.

I wonder if there's some program you should look into. It's likely you aren't the first person in your situation, and going the standard insurance route would just be the wrong way to go.

Probably use their insurance with some sort of caretaker clause. Pay tem the difference which on an existing policy shouldn't be much.

Well, I think in the majority of cases, the person doing the driving would have to be stipulated. I would think in this case, the person can certainly buy the vehicle and insure it and register it, but I am sure there are special procedures and I suspect those procedures vary by province.

So I really think the first thing to do, would be phone vehicle registries in Alberta and get some advice and direction from the people there. I don't know the number, but I would think it could be found on the Alberta Government site, under the appropriate Ministry and probably e-mail contacts would be there as well.

You don't actualy have to have a drivers licence to own/register/insure a vehcile. The one thin you WILL have to do is name someone to be a driver on the policy. In turn, the policy will be rated for that person.

It happens rather frequently. Ei. Boyfriend has terrible credit, girlfriend has great credit but no drivers licence. G/f buys the car/policy, names b/f as driver and all is good.

not always, i work at AMA and have done comparison quotes and we have been fairly good.
Dont you have to be a "professional" to get insurance at monnex? call a broker.
