I was pricing out a Lexus IS350 the other day. I could get the fully loaded model out of the US for about $44,000 canadian plus taxes etc... To buy that car locally would be like $58,000 plus GST. The recent surge in the dollar has made the auto bussiness do a total 180. When I bought a new car in 2002, I had to sign a contract guaranteeing I would not sell the car in the U.S. in the first year. Today it's the exact opposite.
