Fast food never cures my hangovers
The best medicine for me is water, sleep and a massive dump

Works for me, but it has to be either a two cheeseburger meal or a double quarter pouner with cheese meal from McDonald's. I don't think A&W has enough grease.

I think the whole thing with fast food is it just feels better to have that sitting in your stomach after a night of drinking.
Gatorade totally cures my hangovers!

I think your body craves salt when you are hungover?

Gatorade sure does, Propel in particular... as it replaces vitamins, minerals and electrolytes lost while consuming a diuretic like alcohol (and caffeine if applicable).
I don't think fast food actually helps... I think its more the fact that your body is getting food in the system that also contains a lot of sodium.

A 30 minute jog followed by gallons of water and a nap.

I think it does. For me, a Grandpa burger from A&W, with extra cheese, bacon and seasoning salt. Just mayo on the bun, no pickles, no onions, no mustard, no ketchup.
Simply fabulous, the grease seems to soak up whatever is left from the night before. Then I would grab a Gatorade or something with electrolyte and down the whole thing. Then if possible a nap, and when you wake up you feel way better.

Spicy chicken burger and fries from Wendy's always does the trick for me. The Subway I had this morning just didn't do the trick. And I find Gatorade definitely helps too... even though I don't particularly like those kinds of drinks.

I recall starting this thread last year during Stampede, which was a lifesaver….

Write a note for the next time you go out to drink 2 litres of water with 3 Tylenols before you go to bed next time.

i'm gonna be hung over tomorrow at work at 7am so i should probably make a pre emptive strike and buy a few litres of gatorade and maybe a burrito or two and stick them in the fridge at work so when i get here tomorrow morning not feeling so well, i will have something to make me feel a little better.
maybe i'll have to go buy some 7up and stick it in my desk also to warm up.

Yeah, I use the water method right before I go to sleep and it always works. The biggest problem with this is if you're way too hammered to even care to do it, but if I'm able, I drink a full Brita jug of ice cold water and wake up fine.
As for fixing it the day after, I have no idea. I tried sitting in a sauna a few times and it worked a few times and didn't work the other times.

Oh yeah, on the preventative side of things, I try and stick to one type of drink throughout the night. Just beer or just rum, I find that if I start mixing drinks that is when it is game over.

This formula always works for me - always. I don't know if the Vitamin Water brand is available up there, though, so it might not be of any help.
Vitamin Water has a "Revive" formula. It has a mega-dose of B vitamins and potassium. After a night of drinking, right before bed, drink an entire bottle of it. Then, in the morning, right when one wakes up, drink another. Follow up with morning coffee. It's never failed me.
They hangover cures that are marketed have worked for me once and awhile, but it's always been hit and miss. I've had the best luck with Hair of the Dog®.
It also helps if for every two drinks, one has a glass of water.

Any one remember the old hangover cures that your parents used.
I remember my dad going to a party, and he didn't get home til late, so when he woke up he was basically still blasted.
My darlin mother who can be vindictive mixed up this concoction
One glass of tomato juice, warm. one egg, 7 shots of tabasco, two shots of worchestershire. One table spoon of horseradish, one garlic clove, one leaf of lettuce. Put in blender and stir it up.
Dad drinks it on the way to the iciest shower ever known, and we don't see him for about an hour.
When he comes out he's sober, angry and has read eyes like a mirror to hell I tell ya.

Quarter Pounder with cheese and Gatorade. Quitting smoking also drastically reduced my hangovers.

This has been true for me as well. I quit smoking 6 months ago and haven't had near as bad hangovers as in the past. Also, I switched to taking ibuprofen before bedtime instead of Tylenlol on the advice of a nurse friend I know.

Fiction...as the only real cure for a hangover is not drinking excessively to begin with.
I do concur however that gatorade, drinking copious amounts of water before sleeep, and greasy food all help to alleviate the symptoms.
KFC was always one I used when younger. Also Volos Pizza...especially if it was re-heated from the day/night before.

I find that if you cut your carbs for 2 days prior to drinking it greatly reduces hangovers. A nutritionist told me that, and I 've done it a few times to some success.
Siberian Ginseng and a tylenol before bed is the real deal though. 2 caps of ginseng, a tylenol, and water before you pass out will cure any hangover. Not sure why, but it works wonders.
