Has anyone used Superstore order and pickup site?
So I just found out you could order groceries online off the superstore website and then pick it up at your convenience all packed and ready to go. It's up to a $5 service fee which to me would be worth not having to shop at that zoo. Going to try it sometime this week but anyone try it yet have any comments on it?

We use Walmart online for dry goods from time to time. Works well and they deliver to the door.

I can't speak for this one but one of my friends was talking about one like it for costco and superstore, checked it out, and they were right they only changed 5$ for the service, but all the items were marked up like 20-40% as well.

Just shopped at super and then just checked out the prices at the online store, they are the same. In fact I found some deals online that weren't in the store.

I was told prices were exactly the same but can't confirm myself.

Not personally, but know a few people who did (mostly moms with young kids) and they all loved it. The prices and quality of things like produce has been the same as shopping at the store.

The one at Seton is great as it's not a busy store overall. The one at Westhills was a total craptastic experience (can't do it for 6 hours, we're too busy).
I'd expect it to be better at non peak hours.

We were going to try it -- picked everything out on the Thursday night, scheduled for Saturday pick up. My wife went to add an item on Friday night and half our order had vanished without explanation. So we said screw it and canceled. Just been going normally since.

The idea is great but the site is a pain in the ass.

I've done it once and will do it again.
I don't think anything was marked up - prices seemed normal to me. $5 fee was worth not dragging my son around the store and bagging my own goods. It also kept me from making impulse purchases.
Pros:
It takes about 10 minutes to pick up and pay vs around an hour for a full trip.
Ordering in advance means I can shop all week, adding things as we run out
No impulse purchases
No standing in line
Cons:
Their online cart seems a bit buggy
Product "replacements" - I just told them not to replace anything if something was out of stock
No impulse purchases
Only good for full trips, not worth it for anything less than $100 I figure
Pretty hard to avoid the maximum $5 pick up fee, unless you are a stay at home parent
I've also got a coupon code good for discounts on my next 3 orders... so at the very least it's not costing me anything extra to try the service out.

Totally agree. First time, called the customer service line to place the order as it would not allow me to check out. Tried second time and same thing after letting them know how crappy their checkout system was. I gave up and won't be using it unless vast improvement is done. I thought these issues should've been taken care of during "pilot" runs. Good idea, bad execution.

My local grocery store, Quality Foods chain from the Island delivers groceries the next day, Mon. to Fri. to my door for $10. Or I can pick them up. Works fine.

I would want to pick out my own produce and other perishables but I could see myself using this for dry goods and household supplies/sundry.

My wife did it at the weekend for the first time (130th Ave) She much preferred it and will likely use every weekend. Her only complaint was that the firmness/ripeness of some of the produce they picked out wasn't to her liking.

I have used it three weeks in a row and have been relatively happy with it. The prices are great, no different from in store, and sales are displayed. The best best pro is that you don't have to go inside superstore! The first time, at Seton, it took 30 mins of waiting in my allotted slot to get the order. But I attributed that to the launch. Since then it has been pretty good, I use the Mackenzie one and have been happy. The substitutions aren't always the best, so it is probably better to ask for no substitutions. Will continue using, I think the fee of $5 or $3 is well worth the time saving, and no impulse buying.
Superstore has been doing this for 6 months in Edmonton, and Loblaws has been doing it in Ontario for some time too. It has its bugs but I found the site quite reliable.

I'd be concerned the produce would be marginal and you'd get the nearest to expiring milk. Might be worth a try though.

That was my concern, but I haven't experienced that, the produce and milk have been fresh.
