Default iTunes/iPod question

Does anyone happen to know how you can backup your iPod? Is there a feature on iTunes that allows you to do so? I've searched high and low on the Apple website but can't find an answer.

I have a few on my PC, a few on my labtop, and then other songs I received from friends. Because of my large collection, I was wondering if it was possible to do it using iTunes, since all of the music is on my iPod.

not with itunes. It doesn't allow you to transfer songs back to a HD. Get a 2nd party program and you can do it no prob.

There are a number of shareware programs out there that will let you do it and give you something like 10 uses before you must buy. Just get one of those and do it all in 1 or a few uses and you should be good.

Use your iPod as a file manager

Away with you vile iTunes!! All my music is located on an external hard-drive and the first thing I did when I got an iPod (spit) is find something that I could just select the files from my file system without having to load it into a library of any kind.

Enable disk use through iTunes. Your iPod will mount as a disk, back up all the files and folders.
