The picture that gets painted here is so far from the reality.

Yes, it's a joke...that's fine.
Some people here think the joke is the truth, despite it's comedic intent. So it's a joke, but it so true. That's where my reaction is coming from.

LOL...good one.
Ever seen the Tori Amos video for "God"?
I'm hoping those folks are limited to the mountains of Kentucky and keep to themselves. That's creepy.
and hey, I'm not a southerner! I was born a mere 4 hours from Calgary buddy. B)

Wrong question. You should've said...."Anyone who believes this to be an accurate characterization of the areas involved please raise their hand."

Why does Canada have to lumped with the Democrats?? Seems rather creul if you ask me.
I for one would much rather live in the Green part then with those from the North East and West coast.

Are you saying that there is no truth to the stereotype that the "red states" are more religious? Because there is a reason both sides refer to much of the south as the Bible Belt.
People's Exhibit A
And in particular
There is no 1:1 correspondence, but the overall trends are revealing.

That's not what I said.
I'm saying there is no truth to the popular belief on this site that this country is full of fanatical Christians. Full to the point that they dominate society.
