Default Michael Franti coming to town!

Since everyone else has started a concert thread, I figured I'd start this one. July 4 @ Mac Hall. This guy is just awesome. Would also recommend to anyone who hasn't done so already to pick up his latest CD (think it's from last year) "Yell Fire".

Not Meaning to drag this into a drawn out political discussion.... but..

I really like a lot of his music... "songs from the porch" is an unbelievable album... but i worry that his concert will have a lot of political statements. Similar to when i saw STeve Earle and he spent most of the time spouting off.

I go to a concert for their music.. not their political opinion.

Honestly, i saw him at the Folk Fest a few years ago and it was a great show, with not much in the way of inbetween song political hashing... if it is likely the same then count me in.

I've heard most of his shows are strictly about the music. I can't speak from experience but that's what my friends who have seen him are saying.

*BUMP*

Anybody else go to this last night? What an amazing show! Loved it when they left the crowd singing "Yell Fire" after they left the stage and the crowd kept singing until they came back for the encore. Best concert I've been to this year.

That was an amazing concert! That rudeboy song was off the hook too! Well worth the money, I would have paid a lot more for that show

The Marley & Sublime covers were awesome as well. And Sesame Street took it to another level!
