Default CFL Picks- Week 1

A new season of CFL football starts this Thursday so let's get our picks in early! Games are:

BC @ Toronto
Winnipeg @ Edmonton
Saskatchewan @ Montreal
Hamilton @ Calgary

My picks:
Toronto
Edmonton
Montreal
Calgary

Once again, for those of you who are new and want to join in- the rules are pretty simple. Just post who you think will win each week's games. Picks must be in prior to kickoff, and standings are based on number of wins; there are no bragging rights for people who have a high percentage of wins.

Man the CFL is great to bet on, except when it is the Stamps of last year. They were so damn inconsistent it was frustrating. Calgary better blow the Ticats out of the water, this is a huge game for Burris especially.

No roughies fans backing their Riders against Montreal? or are they just thinking with their brain and not with their heart?

not a single team wins their home opener in week 1.

BC too strong for allen since he needs his walker just to get to the huddle

winnipeg: stole half of sask's defence and if kevin glen can avoid burris like stupid mistakes he might just not lose it for them. edmontons gonna finish dead last this year.

Sask: well what needs to be said. they've gone like 16-2 for 19 out of the last 20 seasons...right? (DISCLAIMER: im orig. from sask)

Hamilton: as long as henry " i throw at least 2 red zone INTs every game" burris is in command with a weak offensive line calgary won't make it. unless somehow he can get the ball to jermain "am i going to show up this season" copeland and borighter (sp?) every single play and have them get like 50 yards after catch on every playl.

With some fearless predictions added...for only to get thrown in my face at the end of the weekend...

BC @ Toronto - BC will be the toast of the league this year and Toronto has too many question marks (and by question marks I mean lack of talent) at QB.

Winnipeg @ Edmonton - Toss up here. Everybody is saying Winnipeg is the team to beat in the East. I'm not sure why but am taking them this week to start to prove it. Esks have some serious questions at o-line, RB, d-line and linebacker.

Saskatchewan @ Montreal - Montreal is always good to start the season but have some injury troubles this week. Edwards and Payton are out which means they start their 3rd stringer at RB and Stala is out as well. Add the fact that the totally unimaginative Marcel Bellefeille is their new OC and their offense doesn't scare me as much with Calvillo. It was pre-season I know but my Riders looked real good in the first half with their starters in against the Stamps' starters last Friday - both defense and offense. I think the injury troubles will hurt the Als this week.

Hamilton @ Calgary - Calgary runs away with this one. Burris was off last week but with the offensive arsenal that the Stamps have, offense will not be a problem for the Stamps this week. Hamilton is still rebuilding.
