Sopranos Finale "Made in America"
Since there is no thread for the season finale thought I would start one.
I just saw this episode and since it has not aired yet in the West I will keep my mouth shut, other than I thought it was a good episode overall.

The last 5 minutes may have been some of the most tense TV minutes I have ever seen - sure gave you a glimpse into the life of the Soprano family

I though the ending was very disapointing, I was definatley expecting something much different.

If you remember last week he was fishing with Bobby and they were talking about if you would see it coming when it is your turn. I think he got smoked the music stopped which never happens. I think he is done.

I think collectively, all of North America was saying "what the FACK".....Wow, just wow, I can't believe that's how Chase ended it, the guy is a prick.

Well I'll rank that right down with the final episode of Seinfield. Absolutely terrible, didn't solve anything.
Though I will admit there was a nice tension building moment in the diner, I turned to my girlfriend and in a loud booming voice said "Prepare to be let down"
to be honest I had stopped watching the show a while ago because it got stupid, but I tuned in this year to see the end.
What a mess.

I liked the ending. It would have seemed phoney to tie everything up and
give people resolution.

I loved the ending. Chase somehow made it possible for the audience to enter the psyche of Tony Soprano. We became paranoid that something was going to happen... FBI, assassin, guy who just needs to take a leak? who knows? And then, was it Meadow, was it Butchie, was it another black guy wanting an ice cream cone? Maybe. Excellent.
The movie is definitely coming... that was quite definite.

Why?
Because there has never been a black screen before and Tony has never died before? Because if thats your reasoning then its flawed because the series has never ended before, and there has never been a black screen before so who is to say that isnt the rational behind it?
More then likely Chase knows many people will jump to the same conclusion you have, and he also knows many people will jump to the same conclusion I have. Thus he is in a perfect position to make a "Sopranos" movie in a few years if he can get the cast back together and he has intrest in doing so. But at the same time if that movie never gets made then it can easily be said that the reason is because Tony is dead.
Thats why I dont like this ending, it a cop out on Chase's part, gives himself options for the future instead of giving the fans some semblance of closure.

On another note....I thought this episode seemed very rushed. Chase was jumping around and seemed to be jamming in as many scenes as he could and IMO didnt develop alot of them very well.
I think he would have been well advised to make this episode 20-30 minutes longer, even if he wanted to keep the same ending.

I liked it, loved the diner scene, Chase was playing with the audience big time, left it open to interpretation which is cool.

I liked the ending just because you were expecting something epic to happen. You could definately feel the intensity in that diner scene.
