A lot of the time I notice this simple little spelling mistake...

A lot of the time while I am reading here at CalgaryPuck, I notice a lot of posters make this simple little spelling mistake...

alot = wrong

a lot = correct

Don't want to come off as coming down on people and their grammer, but I thought it would be alright to point it out to some posters who would like to improve their writing on CalgaryPuck.

I must be a real ahole, if I run into a bad spelling mistake or improper use of the words "there, their & they're" I just stop reading the post.

Suprise for surprise.

Thorton for Thornton (it is a name but still)

The whole correcting of people's spelling on the internet almost always backfires. If it's a minor mistake, big deal.

Irregardless.

I apologize for using 'alot'. It's a habit, a bad one, that I haven't been able to break. I'll try harder.

I hate when people say "I could care less."

It's "I couldn't care less," meaning you care so little about the topic that it's simply not possible for you to care any less.

CrusaderPi reminded me that I want to punch people who say "Irregardless" as well.

One that bugs me is "anyways".

"Anyways" isn't a word. People should use "anyway".
