Our Baby Is Here!
The littlest Flames Fan in Iowa arrived on the scene at 6:10 this morning, and announced her presence with a gurgle. She surveyed the scene, and though she was less than impressed (why the hell am I not in Calgary?!?) she kept her thoughts to herself and judged us all in silence before deigning to feed. She'll be pulling for the Flames from Philadelphia this fall. She has the imperial moniker "Magdalena Eva Marie"--but as these pictures show, she's an old soul, worthy of the name.
Thanks to all those on the board who sent along their congratulations and well wishes over the last few months. I will be gratefully accepting advice for new parents, if you have any to offer.

Congratulations and very best wishes IFF. My first daughter of four arrived in a similar sized package almost 20 years ago. My advice: Sit back and enjoy the ride.
Here's hoping for nothing but health and happiness for mom and tot and you as well.

Thanks for the kind words, Biff. I guess I forgot to mention the size of the package, which was a hair shy of 6 pounds, thirteen ounces. What amazes me is that she's so tiny, none of the newborn clothes fit her!
It's also sort of neat that she's 6.13 on 6.13.

Awesome news IIF !!! Congrats!
Our daughter is 6 months now, and like Biff says.......enjoy the ride. It's goes by very quickly.
The only piece of advice I have is to hold and cuddle your kid as much as you can when they're a newborn........it won't be too long into the future when they don't want to be cuddled anymore.......they'll want to crawl and walk and run and do their own thing, nevermind all the relatives and friends and whomever else wants to hold her.
Take advantage of it now. It's pretty damn cool. Enjoy it.

Congrats IFF ... what a great Father's Day gift. I'd like to echo Biff's words ... sit back and enjoy. Don't let yourself get too busy to do that. It seems like yesterday our daughter was born, but she gets her driver's license in a couple weeks. Time travels way too fast.

Congratulations!
Our first daughter was born a mere 3 1/2 months ago. They do indeed grow up so fast. My biggest regret is not getting some of her earlier moments on video. There was a time she made this cool little cooing sound when she slept. Don't be afraid to be the gushing Dad and record all that kind of stuff.

Awesome news! Congratulations from a fellow parent. We've got three kids and would have more if we could. There is nothing more fulfilling in life imo. If you need advice on operating your diaper genie or dealing with exceptionally bad poops then I'd be glad to help!!!!
Have fun and congrats again

Enjoy every moment, I know thats what everyone says but seriously, it flys by! My son is almost 7 months old (wow) and my brother just had a baby boy 2 weeks ago. My son was 6lbs 13 oz (same as your daughter), my nephew was 8lbs 8 oz and he seems like a tiny speck to me....they do grow REALLY fast. Take a bizillion pics and lots of video.
All the best wishes to your wife too.

Awesome! Congrats and have fun. Spend as much time as you can with her, even if its just watching her. My boy will be 3 years old in about a month and it seems like yesterday that he was born. Ah well, mid-November I will wake up to the screams of baby #2!! Have fun buddy!!
