I am glad I haven't been inside the place when I did order from there.

A similar thing happened to me the last time I ordered Chinese. And then when they did come, they couldn't get in because they didn't know what apartment to buzz - even though it said right on the invoice.
Probably the worst Chinese take-out experience I had was when I ordered curry chicken, consumé soup, and almond chicken. The person on the phone thought that I said; "Curry chicken, and consumé soup ON THE chicken" and they actually put consumé soup on the curry chicken.

That's why you should always order by number from Chinese restaurants.

I would have figure that a small family owned joint like that would go out of there way to make thier customer satisfied. I expected this from a place like pizza 73 not a local establishment.

Chinese food makes me nervous. I always worry about the quality of the meat that is used. And no, Customer service is a rare item in most chinese food restraunts I have noticed over the years. I only go to two on a regular basis and I accept the fact before I even walk in that service is not the reason we are there.
I'm not one of those people that expects to get their butts kissed by waiters just for being at their restraunt but I do like it when the person taking your order looks half way interested in getting it right and is honestly interested if you are enjoying your dinner or not.

It's not just Chinese food. Try getting a cup of coffee from Timmy's. It's like their building rocketships. Takes for ever and they never get the order right.

Thats so true about Timmy Hos. They mess up everything. Order milk in your coffee they put cream. Order no tomatoes I get extra tomatoes. I worked in the food service indusrty and its not that hard. There are some people out there lacking in the brain department...

It's a symptom of a booming economy. You get first class service at fast food places in the maritimes, for the most part anyways.

It's true that it harder to find good employees in a boom economy. But what makes me mad is that these places can afford to pay much higher wages and attract better employees but they dont. Timmy's makes millions of dollars selling coffee but pay there employees 10 buck an hour at most. They could afford to pay these people 20 bucks an hour and still make millions of dollars. Wages are tax deductable.

They pay what you are worth and not a penny more.

The point is they can attract better employees by paying more.

But then they wouldn't have the money to produce all those annoying commercials that rival McCains and Panago in awfulness.

they thought it was worth it then they would.
Minimum wage in Alberta is already much lower than $10/hour so thr market is adjusting to the reality.

I wouldn't say that's true about every location. I go to a LOT of different Tims around the city and for the most part get excellent service. The two best are the ones in Westhills and Avenieda.

Minimum wage = minimum effort (for most people anyway). And given the types of jobs they are, who can blame them?
And yes, Tim Horton's can be bad. I had trouble getting "assorted glazed donuts" before at their drive-thru. The 1st time, they gave me just assorted. The 2nd time, they gave glazed, but all the same kind. Two things seems too hard for some of them.
I thought of another funny Chinese food restaurant experience. The last time I went to one, it was late in the afternoon and the buffet was just ending. I looked at the left over food on the buffet table and it looked old. Seeing as how there was only 5 minutes left for the buffet and the quality of food looked poor, I decided to order off the menu. When the waitress took my order, she just proceeded to the buffet table, grabbed a plate, and put food from the buffet onto my plate and brought it over to me. So not only was I getting poor quality food, but I had to pay for the menu price and couldn't get "all I could eat".
I was in too much of hurry at the time to argue, so I had to take it.
