I think this is great, and I wish we would do the same here in Alberta/Canada. I've been to the Humane Society twice so far this week and it is a very sad place.
There was a cat on the classifieds here at work that was found stray and was about to be put down and I managed to call minutes before he was going to be euthanized. He's not even a year old and he was going to die after spending 10 days at the Humane Society. I find the thought this happens several times every day very sad, and something needs to be done because people aren't smart enough to take care of the problem themselves.
