Williams Out, Cammalleri In

The Sharks pulled off another bold move by trading the young highly rated Justin Williams to the Ottawa Senators for Mike Cammalleri.

Slightly younger, Cammalleri is rated much less but had a better season in the NHL putting up 80 Pts in 81 games which is enough of a guarantee to GM Ryan that he made the right decision. Add to that the fact that we also upgraded our #22 pick to #8 in the deal and it starts to really make sense.

It is rumored that Cammalleri could already be involved in talks to be moved out of SJ so he may never actually get to play here, but we'd be happy if he did.

I'm sure there will be more news out of San Jose soon!

PS. Should also say thanks to the Sens GM for getting a deal done while busy at work. That's dedication to the league! Good talks.

yes we made another deal.. Williams is in.. Same age. similar salary.

We just liked willaims and Staal wanted to play along side of him.
overall we feel we did ok. Willams right now is rated better so that was a part of the consideration. yes we downgraded our pick but that was the sacrifice to get the higher rated player.
