“Come bite me!” he said with both hands raised, television footage showed.
One of the lions... bit the man

I'm sorry, but what kinda moron do you have to be to try to convert a lion to your faith?

Puzzling to say the least.

hahaha I watched the footage this morning on CNN. The male lion bites him and he's like "ouch" and continues to raise his arms like Jesus.

Thats absolutely hilarious. And exemplifies everything that I dislike about religion, namely that it allows people to believe that there's no reality outside of the scope of their religious beliefs.

That is a great thread title too.

This has nothing to do with religion. Come on you honestly can't believe that every single person who is religious is going to jump into a lion den and try and convince them to convery to (insert name) religion.

I can't agree with you more, even though there are some "religious" people out there I wouldn't mind seeing getting eaten by lions. RArrrhghhhh!

A man trying to convert an animal to CHRISTIANITY has nothing to do with religion?

And yes I do honestly believe that every single religious person is going to do that... in fact I'm totally shocked that its taken this long to get going...

Maybe you misunderstood my post. I can only hope so, but to help out in case you didn't I'll try again. I believe that it is POSSIBLE for a person to depend so greatly on religion that it skewers their version of reality into something else entirely.

I'm not interested in trying to convert you to atheism, I just thought this was an interesting example of what religion can do to people. I have no doubt that this man was likely insane, but to say religion had nothing to do with it is absurd.

Wow considering how many christians there are in the world, none of the zoos will ever have to feed their animals again.

Maybe he wasn't even religious. He could have just finished watching the Passion of the Christ and had nothing to do in the afternoon so he went to the zoo. He is insane afterall.
