Default New mass grave found

http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/World/20...236086-ap.html

Quote:
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) - Pipeline workers unearthed a mass grave believed to contain thousands of Jews slaughtered in Ukraine during the Second World War, a Jewish community spokesman said Tuesday.
...
Quote:
Holocaust expert Efraim Zuroff, director of the Israel office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said the discovery was not unexpected.

"I'm not surprised that, even in these days, there are discoveries such as these. It underscores the enormous scope of the plans of annihilation of the Nazis and their collaborators in Eastern Europe," he said.

Hundreds of mass graves exist in Ukraine, and many have not yet been discovered, Zuroff said. "Ukraine was an enormous killing field, hundreds of thousands of Jews were murdered," he said.
...
Quote:
Ilia Levitas, the head of Ukraine's Jewish Council, put the number of mass Jewish graves in the country at more than 700.
Once again shows how evil the Nazis were... (and how any comparison to them is totally out of line).

I wonder how many more undiscovered mass graves exist?

I read on another board where a poster compared Stephen Harper to Adolf Hitler when the conservatives first formed their minority government. I went off the deep end on them.

I don't think most holocaust deniers are saying that Jews wern't killed by the Nazi's, or that concentration camps didn't exist, rather that the number 6 million Jews killed is extremly exadgerated. They say there is evidence to support that only a few hundred thousand were killed, contrary to the 6 million number.

Either way, I think it's pretty rediculious that you can be put in Jail for saying something didn't happen. Let them say whatever they want.

RIP to the victims.

Actually I knew 2 Holocaust Deniers and they were from Germany, and they denied it all the way up to it being some sort of conspiracy, they don't believe it ever happened they say it was made up....

OK, well there are people out there that will deny everything. I'm just saying we cna't really paint all holocaust deniers with the same brush.

I mean, we're treading some tin waters here. All holocaust deniers hate Jews? All are anti-semites? I don't believe that. I'm sure some are, but i'm sure that some are asking questions that don't make sense to them. I mean, how many of us here have actually looked into the holocaust? I know I haven't. We accept it as fact because thats just how it is. It's illegal to deny it. So anyone who denies is is automatically a bad guy. Let them say whatever they want and then make up your own mind is how i see it.

All of Germany was on vacation from 1939-1945.

In all seriousness, though, I think the attitudes of those two Germans are far from the norm. Germany has shown an incredible amount of contrition over the atrocities committed by the Nazis. Three years ago, when I was traveling throughout Normandy during the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, I visited a Canadian war cemetery where about 2000 of our soldiers who died during the liberation of Caen and the Normandy break-out were buried. There were several wreaths laid on the monument at the center, but the largest was from the German government.

/\ Well of course not everyone is the same, I'm just saying there are a few people out there who don't believe it happened, and some people it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Ok but the Holocaust isn't the same as making up ones mind over astrology or the existence of God or things of that nature. I don't see why such recent history should be treated the same way. The Holocaust happened. It is not up for debate. There isn't missing evidence or a conspiracy. It's not a coincidence that the people denying it or saying the numbers are wrong are also antisemitic. The correlation between those things are very prevalent amongst Holocaust deniers. The Holocaust isn't a theory that people can make their mind up as to whether or not it happened. It's like saying the attacks of September 11 didn't happen and it is up to one to make up their own mind about it.
