The Blackhawks have traded Bruno Gervais for farm goalie Tobias Stephan. There was also a trade of worthless picks.

Gervais came to the Hawks for Radek Bonk, a player we had no intention of signing, but the Jets had room and cap for him. So Gervais was for us, like finding a $10.00 on the sidewalk and what the heck, we could blow it on a couple of beers, or have a nice lunch, or get a goalie from the Dallas system that will fill the void left in our heart from the Smith Trade.

Jackets sort of needed an AHL defenceman who could come up and play if we run into injuries. Micki Dupont was sitting 7th on our depth chart and well....that sucks. We also felt we had too many Swiss players on our team and that at training camp we had like 4 or 5 of them sitting in the middle refusing to pick a side.
