Default Camping in BC

I'm thinking about planning a camping weekend for maybe myself and 1 - 3 others. Looking for something by the lake, or within a 10 - 15 minute walk. Would like to go to the Okanagan, the south area.

Think everything would be booked up for a long weekend this summer?

Any suggestions?

I guess it'd be good to have it by a city/town. Penticton, kelowna, etc. In/around town, close, or somewhat close. I'm not planning on packing foor for the whole time and really roughing it.

There are some campgrounds on the west side of the lake directly accross from Kelowna. Real nice camping, and very close to the city....I am trying to remember the name of the place. Bascially you cross the bridge and then hang a right a couple clicks down.

Try:

OKANAGAN LAKE PROVINCIAL PARK
The park is located 11 km (7 mi) north of Summerland and provides the visitor with camping facilities, a boat launch and hiking trails. The once dry hillside is now home to a large variety of imported tree species. Angling and swimming in the lakes clear waters are just some of the parks attractions

There are a few good spots just down the hill from Mission Hill overlooking the Lake.

Over the bridge west of Kelowna then Left at the gas station... at which point you have to turn at the Hippy Fruit stand .... best directions i can give!!!

Check out Owls Nest campground between Vernon and Kelowna, it;s right on Kalamalka lake which, in my opinion, is one of the nicest lakes in the area. About a 15 minute drive to Predator Ridge golf course and they campground rents boats and ski's...........

We went to South Beach Gardens in Penticton all the time.

It's near south lake in penticton, and when I say near, I mean it's a walk directly across a road. Rentals nearby, waterslides, gokarts. It's technically in the city, but on the SW edge.

edit: Realized you may be looking for more of a partying campground, above might not apply to you then.
