Siding Cafe is a great upscale diner. Best meatloaf I've ever had in my life.
Pho Anh Huyen is my choice for vietnamese soup or noodle bowls.
Ikea is pretty damn good and dirt cheap.

Ikea!! Even though there's something about that place that I just find creepy... Their restaraunt is a bargain and not bad at all!

I like The Catch downtown even though I've only been there once.
The Keg also makes a great steak, despite being a chain restaurant.

Man do I miss Sizzling Wok, best food in the entire city. It sucks that it closed down. It actually closed down due to the master chef being too old and ill. They tried new chef's/cooks and no one could come close to filling his shoe's. My in-laws were actually friends with the owner of Sizzling Wok, we went there very often. Plus the location wasn't the greatest, I have heard rumors of them thinking of opening a new location somewhere else in the city... There is a Malaysian place up on centre street (2 blocks south of the Brick) it's not that good, steep prices and small portions. I forget what it's called.
Pho Huong Veit, is the best Pho in the city, best service and prices by far. That guy Hong is (know's me and wife by name and our orders everytime we go there)
If you are ever down by Shawnassee, you should check out the Shawnasee Veitnamese restaraunt. Just discovered it 6 months ago, very tasty. Good prices too. It's almost as good as Pho Huong Veit.
Japanese Village, I have always wanted to try it.
I also enjoy Dim Sum at Central Grande (16th, Centre street N).

Great bang for your buck as far as breakfast is concerned. If there's not enough for you to eat in one breakfast simply spring for a second one for another buck.

Sizzling Wok owners were family friends. I used to visit Auntie Kim all the time (used to bring my girlfriends there too hehe). Yeah, they were very good.
Another place that's very good is called Bamboo Palace. I know the owner's son and daughter. It's a fantastic place. It's located right beside booster juice on Kensington. It's sort of like a Thai/Laos fusion. Try the Peneng Gai, you won't regret it.

Just had lunch and Nelly's on 4th for the first time today. I'd go back again for sure. You get a lot of tasty food for $6.50 (eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, hash browns, french toast). Certainly not high-class dining, but a darn good lunch and fast too.
For semi-formal quiet dinner I've always liked Nick's Steak House down by McMahon Stadium. Great Steaks and pretty good Pizza too. I've had way too many good meals there to count.
Fast Food: CB Drive Inn on Nouthmount Drive. Absolutely love their fries with vinegar. Mmmmmm! Good Burgers too and yummy Zuccini Sticks.
Other favorites:
The Mongolie Grill
Moti Mahal
The Ranch in Fish Creek Park
Noodle King on 17th

Did somebody say McDonalds?
But seriously, I agree with hulkrogan...
MT Tuckers is overated and not all that good.
Abruzzo has the best Italian food in town.
Fact: Pornstar Jill Kelly once ate their and ordered...you guessed it: Italian Sausage.

The ironical thing is that I am a vegetarian.
They have bread rolls, cheese, pasta, vegtables, pizza, onion rings, french fries, cake, brownies, soup, jello, and garlic toast.
I think I am going to go tomorrow for lunch.

My mom was good friends with Kim, it wasn't the best looking establishment but I've been going there since I was like 3 years old. A shame it had to close, Beef Satay skewers there with coconut rice was unmatched by any food.
And yes, Tropica is junk...
