adopt a family

I've decided I'm going to try and brighten up a few peoples lives this xmas. Any idea what group sponsors those adopt a family thing? Do you know if you are allowed to pick the family?

my family has been doing this for a few years now, but we live in drumheller so i dont know how it differs there. A few years ago i donated my nintendo 64 plus about 15 games and 4 controllers to the family my parents picked.

if there was enough interest on this board, I could also organize an adoptive family to be hosted by the friendly people on CalgaryPuck....if this idea gets some legs, it would be a cool thing to do.....may even hit the papers?
