Kurt Cobain and Dr. Martens
Wow. Tasteless and just stupid. All they had to do was offer Courtney some money and she would've approved it....no matter how lame it is.
This picture of Kurt Cobain hawking Dr. Marten's shoes from the heavens above has caused a hellstorm of controversy.
It seems that Miz Courtney Love did not authorize the use of the rock legends image and she's very angry about the situation.
Now, in the midst of an ongoing uproar over the campaign, Dr. Martens famous footwear has fired its advertising agency, Saatchi and Saatchi London.

Not that I doubt you of course, but is there a link for this? I'd like to read the story.

Ha ha. It is true. They have a disclaimer right on drmartens.com saying "we are sorry, we didn't do it, the people that did have been canned".
Whoever was responsible for this was trying to get fired.

I couldn't have put it any better myself, one of these things is not like the other...
I find it odd though that the advertising company wouldn't go through the channels to get permission though... unless this is all just a big media thing in order to get more attention to Doc Martins.

^^^ I see the argument, but I might argue it.
Still said, it's one of those thing the company leeks cause it's cool, then retracts, even though the damage is already done.
I thought Martins died in 97...

Ha, you can bet your balls Dr. Martens wouldnt have spent all this money without knowing about it. It's pure BS that they were innocent, this just ensure that their brand will get way more attention than if they would have run the ads without any problems.
Personally, I dont really find it offensive. Dead heroes are always used to sell goods and services....just ask all the people making money over 9//11 memorabilia in the name of patriotism.

No doubt.
Too bad John Lennon didn't wear Dr. Martens.
